Hi, I’m Ayala David, ERYT 500 and YAECP. I’m a yoga therapist, group facilitator, and somatic practitioner. I’ve been teaching yoga for more than ten years and working as a yoga therapist for the last seven. Yoga changed my life in a way that felt so grounding and transformative that I knew I wanted to share it with others. It helped me feel safe in my own body, understand my emotions, and build self trust, and that experience shaped the work I do today.

My background includes trauma sensitive yoga, DBT and ACT informed skills, body image work, meditation, breathwork, sound therapy, and nervous system regulation. Over the years I have facilitated countless groups focused on embodiment, distress tolerance, mindfulness, emotional processing, and reconnecting with the self.

I have worked in a wide range of treatment settings. Early in my career I supported veterans, which taught me a lot about resilience, trauma, and the power of compassionate body based work. I also worked at the Emily Program in inpatient, residential, and PHP levels of care. I spent several years at Carolina House in residential, PHP, and IOP settings, where I worked with both eating disorder and general mental health populations. Most recently, I worked at Pasadena Villa in PHP and IOP programs supporting individuals with complex mental health needs.

I have taught yoga for neurodivergent and autistic individuals, adapting practices to support sensory needs and emotional regulation. I also hold the E on my ERYT 500, meaning I have the taught over 2000 hours and held my certification for over 5 years. As a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider, I created and taught a continuing education course for therapists on how DBT skills and yoga practices work together to support clients in treatment.

My approach is warm, intuitive, and experiential. I care deeply about helping people feel safe in their bodies and reconnecting them with their inner world. Helping others has always felt like my purpose, and I feel honored to be part of someone’s healing journey.

In my free time I love to read, meditate, hike, and spend time in nature. Those practices keep me grounded, inspired, and connected, and I bring that same intention into every group and session I offer.

My approach is grounded in empathy, cultural humility, and a deep respect for each person’s story. I believe that when we invest in our mental wellness, we not only transform ourselves but also the communities we’re part of.

I bring over two decades of experience in social work, community engagement, and youth development to my practice, along with an Executive Master’s in Social Work from the University of Michigan.

For me, mental wellness isn’t just about managing symptoms—it’s about cultivating balance, building resilience, and creating space for growth.

I’m passionate about helping individuals strengthen their emotional well-being, reconnect with their purpose, and navigate life’s challenges with confidence and compassion.

Hello! I’m Erin! A little bit about me: I spent 20 years in the United States Army witnessing wonderful human beings sacrificing and neglecting their own wellbeing for others. Their bodies were ran down from postponing care to ensure mission success. I witnessed numerous troops postpone mental care because they didn’t want their teammates to go without. I also witnessed the intense camaraderie that comes from helping people achieve their potential and overcome life’s challenges. Post retirement from military service, I realized what I had witnessed was also my own reality. I needed to learn how to take care of my mind, body, and spirit.

In 2023, I enrolled in a Holistic Massage and Bodywork Therapy Program dedicated to teaching its students about self-care and the power of intentional touch. I expected to learn a lot of theory, techniques and a few good coping skills but in reality, I rediscovered the overwhelming joy I get from helping people to heal themselves.

In 2024, I was awarded a diploma with the designation of Holistic Massage and Bodywork Therapist and became a Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist (LMBT).

I am trained in many massage techniques to include prenatal, lymphatic, sports, chair, Swedish, myofascial release, and reflexology.

I live in Wake Forest, NC with my partner and potato shaped elderly dog.
